Also, the ability to cast spells over long distances will allow you to defeat magicians whose attacks do not reach a character standing, for example, in the middle of a lake. The armor of the magician in Skyrim also includes the masks of dragon priests. Despite the fact that they are heavy armor, their properties are more suitable than ever for a mage:

Elemental Mage

The most useful skills for this strategy are Destruction, Restoration and Alteration. This tactic is ideal for a lone mage who refuses to wear armor and is always fully armed. In this strategy, the main thing is to follow a few simple algorithms:


1. During the battle with enemies or a group of enemies with melee weapons, you must first use spells Cloak of the elements and Ebony flesh. After that, you can start casting the area spell Fireball and chiseled Incinerate to destroy your opponents.


2. Before the battle with an opponent-mage, it is important to make sure that you have a prepared amulet in one hand, and a Destruction spell in the other (best of all isal, because it is easier for them to break through the enemy's amulet). With the Shockwave ability, you can even prevent the enemy from casting the thu'um, although there is a danger of an early depletion of mana, so when you are going to stun the dragon, first find a shelter in which you can sit out and wait until the magic is restored.


If your character has studied all three schools, which we mentioned at the very beginning, then the battle with the dragon will seem quite easy to him. Before the start of the battle, use the spells Circle of Protection and Dragonskin, and then, in battle, use Lightning Storm. Due to the large loss of mana, the enemy will not be able to use magic, and if he tries to bite you, he will be prevented by the Dragonskin.


At the same time, the third spell will restore your health, and if you also activate the ability of the Atronach stone, then the Protective Circle, in addition to healing, will also replenish your mana.

Attack Mage


The most useful skills for this strategy are Destruction and Sorcery. This tactic is relatively simple, and the above skills are very useful in battles with a small number of opponents.


You will be able to summon a strong ally from Oblivion to go to distract enemies, and in the meantime you will inflict decisive damage on them. In Skyrim, the offensive mage should focus on spells that won't damage the summoned atronach (for example, the fire atronach is immune to fire, and the ice atronach is immune to cold).

The race of elves is most suitable for this tactic. Upon reaching level 10 - 14 of the magician, you can already think about such a problem as the Armor for the magician in Skyrim.
