This little mod replaces the Manticore School Grandmaster Armor with ugly, dirty chainmail with a normal version and allows you to wear the Cat School Grandmaster Armor with the hood down. Several mod combinations are available that work both when starting a new game and a new game+.

Equipment sets are traditionally of particular value to players, which will not only protect Geralt from various evil spirits, but also please the players with their appearance. In the new addition, you will be able to equip your character with powerful armor and weapons. Naturally, all this equipment should be obtained first. About how to do this, we will try to explain to you in this guide. Get ready for the fact that the search for some sets will require a lot of game hours and effort from you, but, as is usually the case, difficult and long adventures end in a good reward.



Where to begin?

As mentioned above, new sets of equipment appeared in the new addition. Your Geralt needs them to deal with the monsters that inhabit the lands of Toussaint. If you think that you will be able to cope with them without new armor, then we hasten to disappoint you, because the level of enemies in Blood and Wine has increased. Of course, if your hero is “pumped up” for this expansion, then most likely you will not have problems with new opponents, at least in the initial stages. In the new addition, another level of equipment has appeared, which is called " Grandmaster". To start your search for Grandmaster Sets, you need to find a blacksmith.



Head to the city of Beauclair, which is the capital of Toussaint. You will find a blacksmith's shop in the southern part of the city, not far from the sign that points to the Nilfgaardian embassy. On the game map, this store is marked with a sword and armor sign. When you find the shop, go inside and talk to its owner, who will tell you that he wants to become a grandmaster. Talking to him will start the quest "Master, Master, Master, Master!". Do not forget to ask him about the witchers who came to him earlier. The blacksmith will tell you how to find new kits. Now you need to successfully complete one of the treasure hunts. Once you do this, you will be able to create Grandmaster kits.

Grandmaster set of the Griffon school

The Griffon School Grandmaster Kit is not a completely new set, as it is an update of an existing one. To get exactly the grandmaster version of the set, you must have at your disposal items from the Master set of the Griffon school. In addition, you will, of course, need various ingredients. It is worth mentioning that your Geralt will be able to equip the Grandmaster set only if he is level 40.

To start, you should head to Montcran Castle, which you can find if you go northwest of the city. Get ready to meet with a large number of robbers that live in this area. You need to get to the destroyed tower. Once in the ruins, turn left and go straight. Near the tower you need to dispel the illusion, and then go down to the lower levels. Now you need to find the crystal on the table. You can do this with the help of your witcher instinct. In addition, this ability will help you find the button on the wall.



When you have the crystal, go down even lower, and then apply it near the far wall. Now open the portal using the Aard Sign. Naturally, you need to use this portal, behind which the golem will be waiting for you. He will try to kill you, but your abilities should not allow him to carry out his plan. After dealing with the monster, take a good look around the whole room. In it you can find three drawings that will help you craft a silver sword, armor and pants of the grandmaster of the Griffin school.



Of course, this is not a complete set. You have to get a steel sword, gloves and boots. Leave the castle ruins and head south. Your goal is the ruins of Ussar Fort. In this zone you will come across a large number of monsters. Draw your weapons and fight them if you like, but if you don't want to waste your time fighting these creatures, then approach the ruins from the east side. Go to the stairs and the opponents won't notice you. Under the stairs you will find a chest, and inside are the three remaining blueprints.



Characteristics

Like the master version of this set, the Griffon School Grandmaster Set belongs to the medium armor class. This set is well suited for those players who rely on magic signs. Once you reach level 40 and acquire the Griffon set, you will strengthen the power of your signs and gain protection from all types of attacks. If your character is equipped with at least three items from the set, he will gain the ability to use one of the signs in standard mode for free after using the sign in standard mode, which was spent energy. If you equip your Geralt with six items from this set at once, then he will receive an even stronger bonus. The size of the Yrden trap will be increased by 40%. In addition, while inside the Yrden trap, Geralt will regenerate energy 5% faster, his Sign Power will increase by 100%, and his damage will be reduced by 20%.

Grandmaster set of Kota school

The second set, which will be discussed in our review, is the set of the Kota school. The first place you will go to will be the house of Bartholomew de Launay. You can find it in the north of Toussaint. When you find this house, you will immediately encounter a problem - the gate will be locked. Do not rush to return home, because you are a witcher! Can some kind of lock stop you?



From the gate, go to the right and make your way inside along the wall. You will stumble upon robbers who will threaten the life of a merchant. Your task is to kill the bandits and talk to the merchant. It won't tell you anything useful, so move on. Now find the red building that is to the left of the gate. Go inside and look for a portrait of a man. Interact with him so that the drawing of the Grandmaster's armor of the Kota school is in your inventory.



Having obtained the first part of the kit, go for two more. This time we will look for boots and pants from this set. Reach the ruins of the Gallion Palace. Be prepared to face the Rogues and the Boss if you haven't cleared the area before. In any case, you need to find a chest in which two drawings will lie. You can find it near the fire in the camp.



Now let's find the blueprints for the gloves and both swords. Having obtained these three drawings, you will completely assemble the grandmaster kit of the Kota school. Your starting point will be the Gallion Palace, to be more precise, its ruins. Move south and find the Cave of Stuff Pits. You will have to draw your sword again to fight the enemies. This time, only weeds will act in their role. In the cave, find a bed that will stand near the corner. In the same place you will find three blueprints.



Characteristics

Like the new Griffon school set, the Cat school grandmaster set will require you to be level 40. This set belongs to the class of light armor. It will be an excellent choice for those who know how to skillfully handle weapons, perfectly parry and dodge enemy attacks. By putting on the Grandmaster set of the Kota school on Geralt, you will maintain excellent speed and receive decent damage. Three pieces from this set will give you a bonus to quick attacks, but only after a successful strong attack. By collecting six items, you will significantly increase the damage from attacks that you will inflict on the enemy from behind. In addition, such attacks will trap the target.

Bear school grandmaster set

Your first goal will be the village of Floviv, which you need to get to. Now find the destroyed building. Its wreckage lies under the roof. Use the Aard Sign to clear the passage of the remnants of the structure. Having done this, go down and turn right. You will find a chest with three blueprints inside. They will help you craft the Silver Sword, Armor and Gloves of the Bear School.



You can get three other drawings of this set in a cave, which is located near the vineyards. As a starting point, we will again use the village of Floviv mentioned above. From the settlement, move north and find this cave.



Inside you will come across a warning. Now use your instincts to find the marks that will lead you to the dead witcher. Search it and take the remaining blueprints. Of course, inside the cave you can meet monsters who will not be very happy about your visit. Use the blueprints to craft the steel sword, pants and boots from this set.



Characteristics

The Grandmaster Kit of the Bear School is heavy armor. If you decide to use this set, then be prepared for the fact that your energy will be restored slowly, however, you will receive a solid defense bonus, so your enemies will have to sweat a lot to kill you. You will be protected from most types of attacks. In addition, the Bear School Kit will help you gain Adrenaline Points faster. The bonuses of this set are associated with the Quen sign. You will receive the most powerful bonus if you collect six pieces of the Bear School Grandmaster Set. In this case, the damage from all the abilities of the Quen Sign will increase by 200%.

Wolf School Grandmaster Kit

You won't need to travel long to get the blueprints for the grandmaster set of the Wolf School, since all parts of this set can be found in one game zone. Go to the camp, which is located near the Gelenser farm. Your task is to find Isabelle Duchamp's diary. Once you've done that, head to the Crypt Ruins. To enter the ruins, you will need to remove the barrier. You can do this with the help of a crystal, which you can pick up from a skeleton located near the entrance.



When you go inside the crypt, go to the first fork and turn left. Run through the ghost. Once in the room with the beast, break through the far wall with a normal attack. Go into the cave. Now get to the far end. On your way there will be a wall again, which can be destroyed with a normal attack or the Aard Sign. After that, turn left. Deal with the enemies that will attack you. Under the rubble lie the remains of the witcher. Search them and take three blueprints that will allow you to create a silver sword, a steel sword and gloves.



You can find three other drawings of the grandmaster set of the Wolf School in the same crypt. The drawings are in a bag that lies in one of the rooms.



Characteristics

As is the case with other grandmaster sets, the set of the Wolf school will have to be crafted at the blacksmith. Don't forget that your character must be at least level 40. Wolf school sets have always been liked by players, and it is worth saying that it is well deserved. The Grandmaster version is the best option for those who want to balance their offensive and defensive skills. This kit will help you gain adrenaline points faster, increase resistance to piercing, blunt, cutting, monster and elemental damage. Wearing three pieces from the grandmaster set of the Wolf school on Geralt, you will be able to apply up to three oils to your sword at the same time. If you become the owner of a full set, you will be able to throw bombs without delay.

Grandmaster set of the Manticore school

Unlike all the previous sets that we have described in this guide, the Grandmaster set of the Manticore School is a completely new equipment. If you're a die-hard fan of The Witcher Adventures series, you'll probably remember that the same set was present in the original game, which came out almost nine years ago. Another feature that makes the Manticore set stand out is its search. It may not take too long for some players, but better prepare for the fact that you will have to put in a lot of effort to become the owners of the coveted set.

First we will try to find the blueprint of the sword. First you should go to the ruined Bastoy prison. You can find it in the northwest of the capital Toussaint. Now look for a dilapidated tower. Climb onto it and the first drawing of the Grandmaster set of the Manticore School will become yours.



You can find a drawing of armor in a cave, which is located east of Beauclair. In the cave, find a wall with a bunch of paper sheets - one of them is the blueprint you need.



Now go in search of blueprints for boots and pants. You need to get to the Swan Sanctuary. You can find this building in the northern part of Toussaint. Go inside the sanctuary and get to the wall, which you should hit with the Sign of Aard.



In the sanctuary, a ghost will attack you. Kill him and find a small chest. Inside, besides drawings of boots and pants, you will find the following clue.

To be honest, the set isn't all that new. Avid players and fans of the series may recall a similar set from the very first part of the game. This is a typical medium armor that gives an advantage to users who prefer to use alchemy. Thus, in The Witcher 3, the armor of the Manticore school is a kind of Easter egg for experienced gamers, since such fighting styles are very rarely used by beginners.

The blueprint for this weapon is stored southwest of Beauclair. Move to the sign "Palace Gardens" and move south from it. Pass by a small peninsula, but if you pass the pier, you can go back. There is a chapel in a cave by the lake. Pass the various tests that fate throws at you, and at the end you will be rewarded with a drawing of the sword.

To get his schematic, you need to find Bastoy Prison. It is very easy to do this. Move from the gardens to the north and come to the Palace. Drive straight northwest from this sign. Check the map. See a small lake with an island in the middle? If you go straight west from it, you will also get to the prison. After drawing two lines, you will see approximately the place where the tower will stand. Go up. Now you need to find a cache in the wall. There you will find a note with a diagram. The last set item you need in The Witcher 3 is the armor of the Manticore School. With chain mail, as with all previous schemes, there should be no problems. True, it is hidden a little away from other drawings.

Head south out of Beauclair. When you reach the Wall Cemetery sign, turn to face east and go straight. There should be no mountains on your way, so you must come exactly to the goal - a cave in the forest. The nearest landmark will be the Gelenser Farm sign a little northwest. You definitely won't pass by. On the opposite wall from the entrance, the player can find many notes. One of them will be the desired armor scheme.

This completes the search for the kit. It does not include a crossbow, so one less problem. Unfortunately, the parameters of the "Manticoran" set leave much to be desired, so it's much more profitable for you to look in the game "The Witcher 3" for grandmaster armor at level 40, added with the latest update.
