The Dubai Marina area is divided into two parts by an artificial channel: the coastal part and the yachting part. Let's call them so schematically, because in reality they have no names.
The coastal part includes part of the skyscrapers of the Marina itself (blue skyscrapers) and the sub-district of Jumeirah Beach Residence or JBR (sandy skyscrapers), as well as the best public beach in Dubai (about it below).
The yacht part is located between the canal and the Sheikh Zayed Road - the main thoroughfare of the city. This part of the area is not in direct contact with the beach!

Coastal Cluster (JBR):
Hotels are among the most expensive in Dubai. Given the amount for accommodation can be very impressive.

There are many entertainment options in this area. The price tag is not cheap everywhere, but no one will take money from you just for a “walk”. So what can you see in Dubai Marina.
The Walk at JBR is one of the landmarks of New Dubai and the very first promenade in the city. It is divided into two parts: pedestrian and road. The Walk is: expensive cars and boutiques, gourmet restaurants, jewelry stores, countless bars, coffee houses, ice cream and souvenir shops + many super places for cool photos.
Marina Mall against the backdrop of the well-known Dubai Mall and the Mall of Emirates looks like a trinket. This is a quiet small shopping center, the main duty of which is to supply the guests and residents of the area with goods and services necessary for everyday life. In Marina Mall you will find: a grocery hypermarket, a currency exchange, a pharmacy, shops with cosmetics and household chemicals, toys, appliances and electronics, restaurants and coffee shops. Prices are higher than in small stand-alone shops, but the choice in Marina Mall stores is huge.
Pier 7 is a restaurant house directly connected to the Marina Mall shopping center. These are seven floors, each of which has a restaurant of different international cuisine and price segment. The higher the floor - the more expensive the prices in the menu. On the first floor - the most budget one, it is quite possible to dine daily, since the prices for Dubai are really normal. The top restaurant offers great views of the bay. If you have a date planned or just for a great dinner with a great atmosphere, be sure to come here!
By the way, even in the Marina it is easy to save up to 50% on food and entertainment. And very, very easy. The discount system has been working for a very long time, but not many tourists from the CIS know about it. If you do not want to pay for sun loungers, no one will forbid you to lie on a towel. Well, if you live in hotels in the neighborhood, then take an interest - they sometimes give their guests cheap beach sets.
There are no women's days. At the entrance, beach workers are trying to cut off an unwanted contingent - visiting laborers. However, many immigrants from India and Pakistan have successful businesses in Dubai or work in high positions, they just like to live in high-rise buildings in the neighborhood, so “misfires” happen - they let in low-paid and uncultured workers who skillfully mow down under this “elite”. These people like to stare and shoot videos of European tourists.
The Beach - is considered the best in Dubai. I would argue with that. The best thing about Marina Beach is only the beautiful skyscrapers in the background, and nothing more. Despite the high prices, at The Beach you will get:
- annoying sellers of anything;
- annoying touts from fur and gold stores;
- too fragrant camels scurrying back and forth;
- the eternal movement of tourists near your sunbed;
- girls tucking panties into rolls and taking pictures in defiant poses;
- visiting workers from India and Pakistan who come here to gawk at the girls from above.
But I'm already nitpicking The real cons are too many people, especially on weekends, and the prices. Only in summer at +45°C is the JBR beach deserted:
You have to pay for everything, and water rides cost absolutely unimaginable money. On the other hand, the beach has everything that a person, in general, could come up with for a comfortable beach pastime.
Life in Dubai Marina does not stop day or night. The area is beautiful. Yes, it has its drawbacks (and as for me - this beach), and pluses (everything else). For some tourists, he "does not enter", and someone does not want to leave from there at all. What will Dubai Marina be like for you?

How to get to Dubai Marina Beach by metro
To get to the Dubai Marina area by metro, you can get off at one of two stations on the red line - Damac Properties or Jumeirah Lakes Towers. According to our experience, it takes no more than 10-15 minutes to walk to the beach, and there will be the beauty of a modern rich metropolis around.
If there is absolutely no desire to walk on foot (for example, in the hot season), then from the metro station Damac Properties you can follow the signs down to the tram, where you can go to the next stop Jumeirah Beach Residence 1.
Dubai Marina beach how to get there by bus or tram
As I mentioned above, the nearest tram stop to Marina Beach in Dubai is Jumeirah Beach Residence 1, or else Jumeirah Beach Residence 2. They are located a block from the entrance to the beach, on a street that runs parallel to the coastline. I posted a map of the movement of the Dubai tram in this article. At the same time, the tram line is immediately visible, so it is easy to navigate it.
bus stops are located next to the trams, so finding them is also quite easy. The difference is that you can even get to other parts of the city by bus. The tram line is still quite short, so the tram runs on a very limited route. We used it rather for the sake of interest and experience.
Within walking distance from Marina Beach in Dubai, buses number 84 and number 8 stop, going through the center to the Deira area.
