The following procedures should only be carried out after the Nova Florida Vela Compact boiler has been installed, inspected and installed by a qualified commissioner. - Open the gas shut-off valve. - Switch on the power supply to the unit (LED will light up green). - Select the boiler operating mode using the regulator. - Set the desired temperature of the heating medium in the heating circuit with the regulator. - Set the DHW temperature with the regulator. - If there is a room thermostat, set it to the desired room temperature. When requested from the heating system, the LED will light up green. When a flame appears, the LED will turn yellow. When the boiler is turned on after a long period of inactivity, especially if it is running on liquefied gas, it can be difficult to start the boiler. In this case, turn on any other gas appliance (eg stove, oven, etc.) before starting the boiler. Even after such actions, the device may be difficult to start and lock once or twice. Unlock by turning the knob to the position for a few seconds.

Operation of boilers Nova Florida Vela Compact

To prevent too frequent switching on / off in heating mode, the boiler maintains a four-minute pause between switching on. However, if the temperature in the heating system falls below 40 ° C, the pause between switching on will be canceled and the device will turn on as needed. The boiler electronics always prioritizes DHW over heating. The domestic hot water temperature can be set between 35 ° C and 58 ° C. The temperature of the heating medium in the heating system can be set in the range from 35 ° C to 78 ° C. The Nova Florida Vela Compact boiler is equipped with a domestic hot water flow limiter, which allows you to get a maximum of 10 liters per minute. The hot water performance depends on the heat output and the temperature difference by which the device heats the water. The appliance is equipped with an anti-freeze system, which is disabled in the standby mode of the boiler. When the temperature sensor in the heating circuit detects a temperature of 5 ° C, the device turns on at minimum power and works for 15 minutes or until the temperature rises to 30 ° C. When it turns off, the pump continues to run anyway. The anti-freeze function only protects the unit and not any other components of the heating system. The heating system can be protected with a room thermostat, but remember that when the boiler is put into standby mode, the room thermostat is deactivated. The heating system can be effectively protected against freezing by using special anti-freeze products suitable for heating systems with different types of structural metals. Do not use automotive antifreeze and periodically check the effectiveness of the product. If the unit is idle, but connected to the mains, the pump is switched on every 24 hours for 30 seconds to prevent seizure.

Boiler lockout Nova Florida Vela Compact

When abnormal conditions are created during the operation of the Nova Florida Vela Compact boiler, it is automatically blocked. Proceed as described below depending on the reason for blocking.

Burner lockout

When the burner locks out, LED 2 (Fig. 1) lights up red.

If this happens, proceed as follows:

Check if the gas valve is open and if there is gas in the line (by turning on the stove, for example). - after making sure that gas is supplied, unlock the burner by turning the regulator to position for a few seconds. If the boiler does not turn on and locks out again on the third attempt, contact a qualified technician. If burner shutdown occurs frequently, signaling a permanently recurring malfunction, contact the Service Center for maintenance.

Overheating lock

When overheating occurs in the heating system, the LED indicator flashes red.

Blocking in case of insufficient pressure in the system

If the Nova Florida Vela Compact boiler locks out due to the pressure switch tripping, the LED indicator flashes yellow. Feed the heating system through the make-up tap located at the bottom next to the hydraulic connections. The pressure in the heating system (when cold) must be between 1 and 1.3 bar.

To restore pressure in the heating system, proceed as follows:

Open the system make-up valve by turning it counterclockwise and keep it open until the pressure gauge shows a pressure of 1-1.3 bar. - Close the system make-up valve by turning it clockwise. If the boiler shutdown occurs frequently for this reason, this indicates a malfunction in the heating system. When the make-up of the system is completed, carefully and carefully close the make-up valve. If the make-up valve is not closed completely, this may increase the pressure in the heating system, which will trigger the boiler safety valve and possibly splash water from it.

Blocking in case of violations in the flue gas / air supply system

In the event of conditions causing abnormal operation of the chimney or air supply, the boiler is blocked. When the boiler is shut down due to faults in the chimney / air supply system, the LED indicator lights up yellow.

Blocking in case of failure of temperature sensors

If the device is blocked due to irregularities in the temperature sensors, the LED indicator flashes as follows:

Yellow / red for the heating circuit temperature sensor; - red / green for the DHW temperature sensor.

Adjusting the maximum power

Check the value of the gas pressure at the inlet; - remove the plastic cap located on the modulator reel, which protects the adjusting screws of the pressure regulator; - connect a micromanometer to the IN connection to check the pressure at the gas valve inlet or to the OUT connection to check the pressure on the burner; - turn the regulator on the control panel clockwise until it stops and open one or two hot water taps so that the Nova Florida Vela Compact boiler works at maximum power; - to INCREASE the pressure on the burner, turn the brass nut clockwise and to DECREASE the pressure, turn it counterclockwise. - when working on liquefied gas, turn the brass nut clockwise until it stops.

Minimum power adjustment

Remove the connector from the bobbin regulator); - turn on the burner and check if the minimum pressure corresponds to the set value; - using a 10 mm wrench, while holding the nut in a fixed position, turn the plastic screw clockwise to increase the pressure and counterclockwise to decrease the pressure. - put the connector on the modulator bobbin.

Final operations

Switch on the boiler and check the correctness and noiselessness of the burner ignition; - check again the maximum and minimum pressure on the gas valve; - adjust it if necessary; - replace the protective plastic cap; - close the gas pressure measuring points; - check for gas leaks.

Things to check:

General condition of the apparatus; - tightness of the gas system of the boiler and the gas supply line to the boiler; - gas pressure at the inlet to the apparatus; - minimum and maximum pressure on the burner; - turning on the boiler; - combustion parameters by gas analysis; - integrity, degree of wear and tightness of chimneys; - operation of the traction interrupt device (CTN); - absence of flue gas leaks into the room and correct operation of the chimney (CTN); - correct operation of the flue gas safety thermostat (CTN); - operation of the fan pressure switch (CTFS); - the overall integrity of all safety devices of the boiler; - absence of water leaks and oxidation of compounds in the boiler; - operation of the system safety valve; - pressure of the expansion tank; - operation of the pressure switch in the system.

Cleaning operations for the boiler Nova Florida Vela Compact:

General cleaning of the inside of the unit; - cleaning of gas injectors; - cleaning of air intake and gas outlet pipes (CTFS); - cleaning the traction interrupter (CTN); - cleaning of ventilation grilles in the room where the boiler is installed (CTN); - cleaning the outside of the heat exchanger;

When performing the first maintenance, also check:

Suitability of the premises for the installation of the boiler; - ventilation ducts in the room where the boiler is installed (CTN); - chimneys, their diameters and length;

Correct installation of the boiler according to the instructions given in this manual.
